Francois Gonsoulin claims 148 arpents of land viz: 6 arpents front by 30 arpents depth on the right bank of Bayou Teche, County of Attakapas, held under a complete patent granted to Bonaventure Martin on 17 February 1772. 31 December 1813 - The Old board of Land Commissioners investigated the claim No. 2227 which says amount of land was 203.86 acres. (Information concerning this land was found on the plat map and also in American State Papers Volume II, page 869. The land is located in section 20, Township 11 South, Range 7 East. Land Records of The Attakapas District Volume I, pp. 386. On 31 December 1813 a certificate was issued to Heirs of Bonaventure Martin. The claim was founded on a complete Spanish land grant to Bonaventure Martin on Teche for 330 superficial arpents, dated 17 February 1772. # # #
