Inventory and appraisal done by Jean Montet and Joseph Hebert. Appraised were 4 slaves at $2,075; 175 mature head of cattle at $1487; 108 head of one-year-old cattle, appraised at $648. Estate valued at $7350. At the end of the inventory there is a notation that the furniture would not be appraised because it was all handmade; however, it is agreed between Jean Boudreau and Salvador Mouton, husband of Susanne Boudreau, that Susanne should receive an armoire. The remainder of the furniture is left to the discretion of Widow Boudreau, Dorothee Comeau. SALE, October 4, 1808. Sale conducted in the presence of the widow, Dorothee Comeau; her brothers, Charles, Augustin, and Baptiste Comeau, and Louis St. Julien, representing the decedent's side of the family. A certain amount of the community property in land and in animals, amounting to $256, was returned as dot to the widow. Buyers were Jean Boudreau, Salvador Mouton, Michel Broussard, Augustin Comeau, Ambroise Toups, George Taylor, Charles Comeau, Agricole Hebert, Theodore Broussard, Jean Langlinais, Michel Boutte, Baptiste Comeau, Marin Mouton, Jr., Isidore Broussard, James White, Simon Heard FARM: 5 arpents wide at the bayou but 6 arpents wide at the depth of 40 arpents, being the same which decedent acquired from Marin Mouton by private act. Mouton agreed to record the sale. Appraised at $1200. Secondly, a tract of land 6 x 40 arpents located on the east side of Bayou Vermilion. This land was acquired by Boudreau from Louis Desormaux. Appraised at $300. Thirdly, a tract of land measuring six arpents wide on each bank of Bayou Vermilion, acquired from Firmin Landry, appraised at $250. A marginal note indicates, however, that a tract of 3 arpents wide taken from this tract has been donated to Lufroy Boudreau by his parents; therefore, the appraised price is only for a tract 3 arpents wide. Lufroy's tract was the lower 3 arpents. The farm, six arpents wide on the east side of the Vermilion and 3 arpents wide on the west side of the bayou x 40 arpents on each side, sold to Theodore Broussard for $250. PETITION, undated, but probably in 1814. This instrument gives the heirs as being Jean Boudreau, Susanne Boudreau, Lufroy Boudreau, Augustin Boudreau, Aspasie Boudreau, Euphemie Boudreau, Don Louis Boudreau, and Emelite Boudreau. The petition is asking the court to have Louis St. Julien render an account of his administration of the estate.
