That such were the characteristics of the deceased is known to all who were well acquainted with him. Quiet and unpretending in his manners, and domestic in his habits, he discharged faithfully the duties of husband, son, father and citizen; and above all he possessed in an eminent degree all those qualities which constitute God's noblest work, AN HONEST MAN. To his family (a wife and four children) his loss is irreparable, - they have the consolation however of knowing that he died at peace with God and man, and that the virtues and moral excellencies which adorned his character, will long cause his memory to be respected and revered in this community; and we trust and believe that he has exchanged the troubles and trials of this life for the joys of a better and brighter world.
