It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. Edmond Lapeyruse (sic), 
Jr., which occurred at his home yesterday morning, at the age of 61 years 
and 3 months. Deceased was a useful citizen, well known in this and St. 
Martin parishes and highly esteemed by all, being of a jovial and friendly 
nature. He was for many years manager of Mrs. C. Bergerie's brick yard, and 
his loss will be felt by this esteemed lady, while to his widow and children 
it brings the pangs of sorrow always felt at the loss of a devoted and 
loving husband and father. He was a member of the Benevolent Association and 
this organization attended the funeral in a body. The remains were taken to 
St. Martinsville for burial after ceremonies at the Catholic church in New 
Iberia. A large number of friends were also in attendance. We extend to the 
afflicted family sincere sympathy in their hour of sorrow.
