The Louisiana State University Library has a microfilm file of the extant issues of the "Planters' Banner". Following are abstracts of the marriage and death notices from the columns of the "Planters' Banner" between January 1, 1846 and December 31, 1853. The marriage notices during this period help fill the gap in the marriage records found in the St. Mary Parish courthouse cause by a fire.
