Also, celebrating with Father Buddy were Father Blanda and Father DesOrmeaux pastor and associate pastor of Saint Mary Magdalene of Abbeville and Father O’Neal Landry, retired pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville. The priests were assisted on the altar by students of the bride, Taylor Genest and Jacob Martin. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark J. Robicheaux of Franklin. Her grandparents are Mrs. Laura Belle Trahan, the late Mr. Alcide ‘Buck’ Trahan, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Robicheaux of Franklin and Mr. and Mrs. John Lightfoot of Lovelock, Nevada. The groom is the son of Ms. Donna A. Comeaux of New Iberia and Mr. and Mrs. S. Michael Comeaux of Youngsville. He is the grandson of Mr. Karl Andrus, the late Mrs. MaryAnn Andrus, Mrs. Eva Delcambre, Mrs. Marie Comeaux and the late Willie Comeaux of New Iberia. Twin sisters of the bride, Emily and Caroline, served as matron and maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Jacqueline Latiolais O’Niell, long time friend of the bride; Stephanie Lorenzo, friend of the bride; Carly Trahan Moss, cousin and friend of the bride; Kimberly LeBlanc St. Blanc, longtime friend and college roommate of the bride; Mattie Pontiff, close family friend of the bride; Karlie Comeaux Dartez, sister of the groom; Hope Norris, stepsister of the groom and Amanda Holt Robicheaux, sister-in-law of the bride. The bridal attendants wore charcoal grey knee-length dresses featuring a ruffled neckline and fitted waist. Their shoes were fuchsia, accented with crystals. The bridesmaids carried orange calla lilies, pink dahlias and yellow lilies tied with fuchsia ribbon. Alex Romero served as best man to the groom. Cody Prejean, college friend of the groom; Kyle Tizzard, college friend of the groom; Ross Schexnayder, college friend of the groom; Matthew Brady, cousin of the groom; Tyler Brady, cousin of the groom; Josh Dartez, brother-in-law of the groom; Scott LeBlanc, co-worker of the bride and groom and Brent Robicheaux, brother of the bride were all groomsmen. High school friends of the bride, Michael O’Niell, Zach Fitch, Billy St. Blanc and Seth Moss, served as ushers. AddieGrace Anne Louviere, niece of the bride, served as the flower girl. Koa Romero, son of the best man, was the ring bearer. AddieGrace wore a dress handmade by the mother of the bride. The tea-length dress was made of dotted Swiss with satin piping; a satin sash monogrammed with her initials was worn at her waist. Addie carried a plush puppy down the aisle. Readers for the Mass were David Brady, uncle of the groom; Elizabeth Prather, close friend of the bride; Julie Romero, close friend of the bride and Rosann Castille, close friend of the bride. Gift bearers were Alex and Aurora Romero and Tim and Erna Bodin. Eucharistic Ministers were Christopher Meaux, Wess Robison, Mike Disalvo, George Veazey, Joyce Stutes, Linda Horton and Roye Pontiff. Programs were given out by Sarah and Hanna Wisterman, cousins of the groom. Escorted by her father, Katie wore a silk dupioni ball gown featuring a ruched bodice and box pleated skirt, which fell into a chapel train. Hand-sewn pearls and crystals adorned the sweetheart neckline. The bride customized the gown by adding pearls and crystals along the empire waistline. The off-white gown featured silk covered buttons along the zipper. The off-white veil was cathedral-length. The bride’s bouquet was a beautiful arrangement of white calla lilies and white hydrangeas. A special touch to the bouquet was one peach rose, in remembrance of her grandfather, Buck. Katie’s something old was the wedding band of her great great grandmother Sydney; something new was her dress and jewelry; something borrowed were the shoes that Emily, her sister, wore on her wedding day; and added to those shoes were two blue bows to complete with something blue. The bride’s mother wore a gown by Montage for Mon Cheri Bridals. The fuchsia gown was made of silk shantung. The A-line gown has an off the shoulder neckline that is embellished with a crystal brooch and featured a softly gathered bodice. The groom’s mother wore a Montage two piece shantung suit, A-line peacock blue dress with softly curved neckline and detachable gold halter strap, crisscross pleated Empire bodice and a matching bolero jacket with three quarter length sleeves. The mothers carried small bouquets of calla lilies tied with silk ribbon. The reception was held at the Lamppost. The couple along with their guests, danced to the music of Krossfyre late into the night. Favors of ‘Buck cookies’ were given to guests as they departed the reception. The special treats were favorite cookies baked by Katie’s grandparents and the grandchildren at Christmas. A private ceremony was conducted for family and close friends at Rip Van Garden Winkle Gardens at 7 p.m. Pastor Derrick Wilson officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Micheal and Bernadette Lockett Thomas of Houston. The groom is the son of the late David Johnson of Four Corners and Mary Charles of Sorrell. Escorted by her father in a horse drawn carriage, the bride wore a white strapless sweetheart chapel satin gown by designer Jim Hijelm. Her headpiece was adorned with Swarovski crystals and a neckline veil edged with opal pearls. Her reception gown was also a white strapless gown by designer Priscilla of Boston. The headpiece for that gown featured pearls and rhinestones on a flower shaped band. She carried a clutch bouquet consisting of stargazer lilies, hot pink open roses and white hydrangea accented with wispy white feathers. The bride’s oldest daughter, Janyceia Hawkins, and her sister, Candace Thomas served as maids of honor. Honorary maids were the bride’s sisters NnZinga Thomas, Tyean’Sheye Hawkins and Mary Keeys. Bridesmaids were Geraldine Hawkins, Michelle Jackson, Shontelle Jackson and Katanya Lumpkin. Dabria Clark and Serenity Smith served as flower girls. The angel was Brooklyn Jackson and Jayla Renter announced the bride. The best men were the groom’s son, Quincy Johnson, and his cousin, Kendrick Armelin. The bride is also the daughter of Marilyn P. LaSalle of Patterson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jackson of Jackson, N.C. Decorations for the wedding included white magnolias and purple roses floral arrangements, purple candles, and chairs draped in purple and white satin. Music was by vocalist Marilyn LaSalle. Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in couture gown of ivory lux organza designed with a fitted bodice and a flowing Tiffany train of swirled ruffles. Gracing her head was a band of seed pearls that held a 32-inch veil of illusion designed with a satin edge. She carried a bouquet of long-stemmed, white calla lilies wrapped with a purple sash and draped with pearls belonging to her maternal grandmother, the late Hattie Perry, and a rosary belonging to her paternal grandfather, the late Collins LaSalle Sr. Bridesmaids were Yolanda Jones, Vicky B. Kilgore, Tabitha Mallory, Melanie Auzenne and Chante Roberts. Joie Dural, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Christopher McKinley, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer. The groom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Theo McKinnon, Cedric Bazemore, Rury Grisham, John Cannady and Jerome Smith. An outdoor reception immediately followed. The bride’s cake was a three-tiered confection in white. The almond-amaretto cake had swirls of laced icing. Purple flowers cascaded from the top of the cake down to its bottom. Helping with hospitalities were Carolyn Thomas and Cynthia Dartest. Prior to the wedding, the bride’s father hosted a rehearsal dinner at Shaedee’s in Patterson. The bride is a graduate of Louisiana State University and LSU Law School. She is a U.S. Air Force captain and is a member of the Judge Advocate General Corps. She serves as defense counsel for the Office of Military Commissions in Washington, D.C. The groom is a graduate of North Carolina A&T earning a bachelor’s degree in Business. Brian Mercer officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jerry Gene Grigsby and Sally Stokes Grigsby of Ruston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Latiolais of Franklin. The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory tissue taffeta gown with a sweetheart neckline and an appliqué of rhinestones, sequins, rocals and crystals. The gown also featured a fitted ruched bodice with covered buttons and appliqués of rhinestones, sequins, rocals and crystals cascading down the center of the back. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of hot pink roses with lemon leaf at the base, wrapped in ivory satin ribbon. Amy Grigsby Bigler, sister of the bride served as the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Emily Brister; Jessica Brumley; Lindsey Graham; Jennifer Grigsby, sister-in-law of the bride; Amy Hudson; Molly Lebrun; Erin Negrom and Jacqueline O’Niell, sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaids were Caroline Bigler and Molly Bigler, nieces of the bride. They wore ivory taffeta tissue dresses with ruched bodices and gently gathered skirts that flowed to the floor. They carried bouquets to match the bridesmaids’. The attendants wore black satin gowns with sweetheart necklines and fitted cummerbund waists. The skirts featured soft gathers and flowed to the floor. They each carried a hand-tied bouquet of hot pink spray roses, hot pink roses, purple statice and lime hypercum berries with twigs and lemon leaf at the base. Tristen Matthew James served as the best man. The groomsmen were Christopher Bigler, brother-in-law of the bride; Bryan Charpentier; Jason Grigsby, brother of the bride; Danny Latiolais, father of the groom; Matthew Mekash; Phillip Mekash; Michael O’Niell, brother-in-law of the groom and Phillip Rollins. The junior groomsmen were Cameron Grigsby and Hayden Grigsby, nephews of the bride. Bobby Joe Gibson Jr. served as the usher.
