Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jeanerette, for Marie Kobleur Allain, 80, who passed away at her residence in Lafayette. The Rev. Ed Degeyter of St John the Evangelist Church will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Readers will be her granddaughters, Lauren Lemaire Lynch and Katherine Grettner Heard. Gift bearers will be granddaughters, Quin Elise Allain, Emma Marie Allain and Maggie LeBreton Grettner. A Eulogy will be given by her godchild, Patricia Ann Bacala. Entombment will take place in St. John Mausoleum. She is survived by her one son, Robert LeBreton Allain II and his wife, Kimberly, of Adeline, La.; and four daughters, Anna Allain Bergeron, Marguerite Allain Grettner, Joan Allain Parish and her husband, Glenn, all of Lafayette, and Elizabeth Allain Robin and her husband, Dean, of Jeanerette; two sisters, Doris Kobleur Bacala and Claire Kobleur Guidry, both of Lafayette; one brother, Joseph V. Kobleur and his wife, Rose, of Titusville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Lauren Lemaire Lynch and her husband, Matthew, of Lafayette, Mark Banta Lemaire and his wife, Ashley, of Houston, Texas, Katherine Grettner Heard and her husband, Michel, of New Orleans, John David Grettner and Maggie LeBreton Grettner of Lafayette, Quin Elise Allain of New Orleans, Emma Marie Allain and Robert LeBreton Allain III of Adeline, La.; and two great grandchildren, Anna Katherine Lynch and Noah Michael Lynch of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert LeBreton Allain; and her parents, Joseph and Anna Trahan Kobleur. A native and resident of Jeanerette for most of her life, Marie Allain, lovingly known as "Hotsy" to her family and friends, was active in many civic and social organizations. She was a member of the Jeanerette Garden Club, the Entre Nous Social Club and a past board member of the Jeanerette Museum. She volunteered in various capacities at St. John the Evangelist Church and St. Joseph School. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in Jeanerette on Friday, September 14, 2007, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., at 6:30 p.m., a rosary will be recited, and will continue on Saturday, September 15, morning from 9 a.m. until time of services. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Mark Lemaire, John Grettner, Robert Allain III, Matthew Lynch, Michel Heard and nephew, John Guidry. The family requests that donations be made in memory of Marie Allain to the Robert Le- Breton Allain Memorial Library of St. Joseph's Catholic School in Jeanerette.
