Tunney B. Canine, 78, a native of Plaquemine and resident of Charenton since 1960, died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 5:10 a.m., at his residence. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, whose life revolved around family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved life. He was most known for being a hard worker, his generosity, having a big heart, a good sense of humor and being a child at heart. Mr. Carline is survived by his wife, Emily Kelley Carline of Charenton; two sons, Thomas J. Carline and his wife, Mary Ann, of Baldwin, and Marglynn P. Carline and his wife, Catherine, of Charenton; three daughters, Paula Burke and her husband, Preston Jr., of Franklin, Pamela Benoit and her husband, Sidgy Jr., of Baldwin, and Myra Meche and her husband, Richard, of Lafayette; three brothers, Carl Carline of Charenton, Ray Carline of Kaplan and Archie Carline of Lakeland; three sisters, Mazie Patterson of Eden, NC, Regina Breaux of Sorrell and Glinda Kelley of Bayou Sorrel; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin Carline and Josephine Palmature Carline; and by an infant daughter. The family requested that visiting hours be observed Sunday, March 25 at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., and again Monday, March 26, at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton, from 9 a.m. to service time. Funeral services were held Monday at Little Pass Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Interment followed in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Hodnett officiated the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
