Funeral services will be held at a 1 p. m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Rae Marguerite Champagne, 87, who passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007 at her residence. The Rev. William Ruskoski, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette. Mrs. Champagne, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Houston, Texas, was the daughter of the late Robert Adams and the former Louise Landry. She was a veteran of the military, having served in the U. S. Navy. She retired from the U. S. Post Office in 1985 after 16 years of service. Survivors include one daughter, Jody Anne Polito of Houston, Texas; and one son, Joseph A. Polito III of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elton Champagne; one son, Michael D. Polito; and one brother, Robert Adams Jr. Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, from 9 a. m. until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 11 a. m. in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Adams, Robert Adams, Joey Adams, Bob Kees, Jimmy Kees and Tommy Kees. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Kees, Bruce Grossman and Shirlyn Kees. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements. ===================
