"Poochie" Delahoussaye Sr., 78, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2007. A resident of Gretna, Louisiana for 40 years, he was born and raised in Charenton. Poochie rose from a roughneck position in the Louisiana oilfields to a vice president position with Quarles Drilling Co. before retiring at age 55. He was an avid golfer and had a fun-loving and competitive spirit. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Poochie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucille Boutte Delahoussaye; his son, Quinton Delahoussaye Jr.; his daughters, Roxann Delahoussaye, Yolanda Meinecke, Vickie Pettee and her husband, Michael; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and stepmother, Renella Delahoussaye. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee J. and Eva Kern Delahoussaye; his sister, Charlene; his daughter, Crystal Morton; his son, Brian Delahoussaye; and grandson, Michael Delahoussaye. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service which also will be held for Poochie's two children, Brian and Crystal that have preceded him in death, at Clark-Ducote Funeral Home, 9611 Highway 23, (two blocks north of the Belle Chasse Naval Air Station) Belle Chasse, on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 1 p.m. Interment will be private. Visiting will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Poochie to West Jefferson Home Health and Hospice, 4511 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072. ===================
