Loretta Daigle Derouen was born Dec. 23, 1934 at Bayou Chene, the oldest of 11 children born to the late Howard and Stella Carline Daigle. At a young age, Loretta was nicknamed "Prissy Poo" by her friends and family because of her love of "frilly" dresses and her loving character. Many who knew her will fondly remember her beautiful smile and generous heart. Although she was born handicapped, it seemed more apparent to others than it did to her. She never asked or expected special treatment and in fact strived to overcome what others may have considered a burden. She never considered her needs as she gave freely to others and expected nothing in return but friendship. She never met a stranger and lived and loved in her own special way. The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, November 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Curtis Pace officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Centerville. Mrs. Loretta is survived by one son, Keith "T-Bird" David Derouen of Centerville; five brothers, Wesley Daigle of Franklin, Larry Daigle of Franklin, Jerome Daigle of Canyon Country, California, Michael Daigle of Franklin and Clay Daigle of Lafayette; four sisters, Doris Cooper of McComb, Mississippi, Carolyn Verrett of Morgan City, Cindy Cole of Stephenville and Becki Comeaux of Centerville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Derouen; and one brother, Dwight Daigle. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
