Mrs. Vera Barnes Joseph, 72, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at 9 a.m., at her residence following a short illness. She was a retired schoolteacher of St. Mary Parish. Survivors include her husband, Herbert "Joe the Barber" Joseph of Baldwin; two sons, Marvin R. Joseph and Brad M. Joseph, both of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Harold Barnes of Atlanta; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Joseph was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers. Visitations will be observed Saturday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a Rosary and tributes at 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin. Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church. The Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Baldwin. The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations. ===================
