Le Bourgeois, 67, a native of New Iberia and a longtime resident of Baldwin, died this morning, January 15, 2007, at 4:30 a.m., at the Franklin Health Care Center. Mr. Le Bourgeois was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Baldwin Council, an avid fisherman, and LSU fan. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved to spend time outdoors with his family. He was a retired sugarcane farmer that farmed the Franklin area for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bonnie Boudreaux Le Bourgeois of Baldwin; one son, Geremy George Le Bourgeois of Vacherie; one daughter, Georgette J. Le Bourgeois of Metairie, and her fiancé, Kenny Teen of Metairie; one brother, David Le Bourgeois and his wife, Julie, of Baldwin; a sister-in- law, Dottie Le Bourgeois; one grandchild, Madison Galloway of Metairie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcee Joseph Le Bourgeois Sr. and Janice Mora Le Bourgeois; and one brother, A.J. "Brother" Le Bourgeois. The family asks that visitations be observed Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin, with the rosary being prayed at 11 a.m., led by Deacon Harry Darce. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 12 noon, at the church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart church cemetery. Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Kenny Teen, Levi Le Bourgeois, Herman Le Bourgeois, Chuck Rodriguez, Jed Robison, Steve Landry, Wayne Smith and Tommy Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Burke, Chad Louviere, Dale Hebert, Weldon Taquino, Jeremy Smith and Joey Blanchard. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 614 Barrow St., Houma, LA 70360.
