All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.shtml ======================================================================= LOUVIERE, VIRGINIA Oct. 27, 1915 - Sept. 4, 2007 Mrs. Virginia "Taunt Tin" Landry Louviere, 91, a native of Patoutville and a resident of Franklin, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at her residence in Franklin. The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, Sept. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ibert's in Franklin, with a rosary at 7 p.m. The mortuary will reopen Friday at 8 a.m. until time of services. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption, with Father Benoit and Deacon Bourg officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette. Mrs. Louviere is survived by two sons, Henry Louviere and his wife, Antoinette, of Baton Rouge, and Robert Louviere and his wife, Phyllis, of Orange Park, Florida; three daughters, Laura Leleux of Plaquemine, Rose Jolet and her husband, Floyd, of Lydia, and Eva Bordelon and her husband, Michael, of Franklin; four sisters, Mabel Breaux of Lydia, Gertrude Thibodeaux of New Iberia, Clara Dupre of Lydia and Agnes Hebert of Lydia; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney Leonard Louviere; her father, Caliste Landry; her mother, Eva Stansbury; three brothers, Dominic Landry, Euzebe Landry and August Landry; three sisters, Euphemie Derise, Alma Broussard and Marie Guillotte; one great grandson, Mark Anthony Alsdurf; one great great granddaughter, Isabella Grace Bouton. Mrs. Louviere was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and participant in the Perpetual Adoration, also of the Catholic Daughters of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ladies Altar Society. She worked hard at many jobs, but will mostly be remembered for the work she did at LaGrange School Cafeteria. The students will remember her as "Sarge." Mrs. Louviere will be sadly missed by her family and friends and always remembered for the countless hours spent in prayer for others. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Her family will always remember her kind heart and her stern "left" hand. She was especially proud of the fact that she had five generations for over 11 years. She will be missed by all who knew her.
