Charles M. Peterson, Jr. a resident of Franklin, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at 5:15 a.m. at Our La.dy of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in La.fayette. Charles was born in Port Arthur, Texas and has been a resident of Franklin since November of 1919. In his early years he had done a variety of jobs from trapping, painting, fur trading and working 15½ years for Texaco Inc. at the Bate-man Lake facility in Berwick. He has been a member, in good standing, of the Franklin Masonic Lodge 57 F&AM since April 5, 1938 and a member of the Doric Lodge 205 in Morgan City. On Nov. 24, 1948 he married Beatrice Marie Albares and had two daughters, Mrs. ELaine Peterson Hebert and Mrs. Linda Peterson Culter. Charles is the oldest of four brothers, Harold, Donald, Karl and Earl Peterson and one sister, Mrs. Flora Faye Wise. He is survived by his two daughters, Elaine Hebert and her husband, Patrick, and Linda Culter and her husband, Charles, three grandchildren, Dirk Hebert and his wife, Michelle, Leah Hebert, and Jennifer Culter Richard and her husband, Nick; and three great grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Hebert, and Noah Richard; two brothers, Donald and Earl Peterson; and one sister, Flora Faye Wise. Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Albares Peterson, his parents Charles M. Peterson Sr. and Lydia Dugas Peterson, and two brothers, Harold and Karl Peterson. A very special thanks to Mr. Charles' care takers, Cassie Hines, Shelia Randle, Gloria Gibson and Edna Maxie, who made his life more comfortable during their time of service. Thank you from the Peterson Family for all the love and kindness you have given. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church of Franklin from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Rev. Erin Oliver will officiate the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
