But in her quiet time, she enjoyed word search puzzles. She and her daughter, Carol, enjoyed many memorable meals eating out every night. Mary will be missed dearly, but will leave behind many fond memories with family and friends. Geneva Baptiste Pradia, the daughter of the late Rev. Curley E. and Regina Jacquot Baptiste was born September 2, 1941 in Ashton, Louisiana in St. Mary's Parish. Geneva received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and also completed graduate coursework at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She was a retired school teacher of the Iberia Parish School System where she held positions as an elementary school teacher and special education LINK Counselor during her 30 year tenure. After her retirement, she became a consultant for the Federal Head Start Program, traveling extensively in that capacity. Throughout her life, Geneva displayed an unwavering commitment and love for her family and friends rooted in the religious and moral foundations of her upbringing. She found great joy and fulfillment in developing and nurturing the aspirations and potential of the young impressionable minds around her, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Ruth is survived by two sons, Frank Boudreaux and his companion, Linda, of Gonzales, and Victor 'Cotton' Boudreaux and his wife, Louise, of Patterson; three daughters, Mary Dinger of Patterson, Beverly Mickler of French Settlement, and Lydia Rink and her husband, Dean, of Patterson; one brother, Larry Plaisance and his companion, Polly, of Savannah, GA.; one sister, Margaret Johnson and her husband, Johnny, of Swansboro, NC.; and five grandchildren, Lawrence 'Joey' Simoneaux, Nikita Metrejean, Cody Rink, Caleb Rink, and Johnny Metrejean. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Boudreaux Sr.; her father, Victor Antoine Plaisance and her mother, Maude Boudreaux Plaisance. The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, January 29th from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin, with a rosary being prayed at 1 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 29th at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption with Father Lloyd Benoit officiating. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Baldwin. RAY, JIMMIE F. Jimmie F. Ray, a native of Roundaway, Miss., and a resident of Berwick, La., died at his home Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010. Mr. Ray was a World War II veteran. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, three Bronze Battle Stars, one Oak Leaf Cluster Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart in 1945. He was a VFW member for more than 40 years. He is survived by his son, Calton (Alta Leann) Ray; daughter, Marta (Floyd) Mire; sisters, Dollie Sue Ray and Muzette Dunaway; brother-in-law, Jim (Joan) Calton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is buried at the Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum.
