DIXON, THEO ADELE KRAMER Graveside services for Theo Adele Kramer Dixon of Monroe were held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, with the Rev. Canon Gregg Riley of Grace Episcopal Church officiating. She faced live with courage, conviction, joy, excitement and a sense of humor. God gave her the miracle of personality. She was born June 4, 1927 in Shreveport and grew up in Franklin. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Foster Kramer; and her husband, Joe Hart Dixon. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Frere Kramer of Franklin; two sons, Joe Hart Dixon Jr. and wife, Kay Matkins, and Thomas Kramer Dixon of Monroe; one daughter, Adele Buntin and husband, David W., of Nashville; and nine grandchildren, Katherine Frere Dixon Sandifer, Caroline Carter Dixon Carpenter, Clair Kramer Dixon, Joe Hart Dixon III, Anna Elizabeth Marsh Dixon, Melissa Doll Dixon Langley, Jessica Buntin Smith, Jesh Buntin and Jonathan Buntin. She served on the board of the Masur Museum of Art and the board of United Way and was a volunteer of St. Francis Hospital and the St. Joseph Home. She was a member of the Monroe Garden Club, the Monroe Garden Study League, the Junior Charity League, the English Speaking Union, the Junior Study Book Club, the Episcopal Daughters of the King, the Colonial Dames of America, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the First Families of Mississippi and Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae. "Buster" Charpentier Jr., 84, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 12:50 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital. Mr. Charpentier was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in the Asiatic- Pacific Campaign and received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Later in life he went on to work for Shell Oil. After 33 years of dedicated service, he retired from Shell Oil in 1986. He enjoyed his morning visits with friends at McDonald's. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. McPherson, Dr. Tessi and the staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Buster. Mr. Notto was born in Manila, Philippines on December 25, 1947 to the late Mr. Frank and Mercedes Notto Sr., at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Frank attended Park Avenue High School in Franklin. He attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana College in Lafayette. Frank joined the Catholic Church at an early age in Glencoe; there he met the love of his wife, Brenda Shavers Notto. They were married 37 years. From this union they were blessed with two beautiful sons. He moved to Savannah as a young man. He joined Saint Anthony Catholic Church (now Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church) shortly after moving to Savannah, Georgia. Frank was employed by Savannah Sugar Refinery Incorporated (now Imperial Holly). Frank retired after 36 years of continuous service. He was a dependable and dedicated employee. Frank was preceded in death by his loving parents; and two brothers, David and Wilfred Notto. LANDRUM, HUBERT WAYNE A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sulphur, for Hubert Wayne Landrum, 84, who died on Thursday, February 18, 2010, in New Iberia. Eric and Leslie Mansell will officiate. Mr. Landrum was a native of Refugio, Texas and had lived in Sulphur, Louisiana from 1956 to 1972 when he moved to Franklin. He returned to Sulphur in 1997 and most recently to New Iberia. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Marine Corps aboard the carrier USS Essex. He retired from Quintana Petroleum after 42 years of service. Hubert enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Landrum was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sulphur. In keeping with his wishes, his body was donated to medical research. Survivors include his four children, Linda Latiolais and husband, Ken, of Salado, TX; Dr. Steve Landrum and wife, Jodee, of New Iberia; Debi Lauret and husband, Robert, of Franklin; and Leigh Landrum of New Iberia; his four grandchildren, Brian Lauret, Jennifer L. Doiron, Steven Landrum Jr. and Eric Landrum; his two step grandchildren, Monty Latiolais and Cynthia Teran; and his seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carrie L. Landrum; and his sister, Dorothy O'Riley.
