Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2010/sm1005.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 1:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Elmer Marcotte, 82, who passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, at 2:33 AM at the Franklin Foundation Hospital. Musical selections will be performed by Connie Theriot. Interment will follow in Beau Pre' Cemetery in Jeanerette. Rev. Bobby Hodnett will conduct the services. Mr. Elmer was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved hunting squirrels and ducks, fishing, crabbing, and was an excellent crab and crawfish boiler. He enjoyed Hank Williams Sr. and Loretta Lynn music and cherished spending his time at home and with his family he loved. Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Lucy Blanchard Marcotte; one son, Blake Marcotte and his wife, Jackie, of Patterson; two daughters, Sharon Marcotte of Charenton, and Barbara M. Feske and her husband, Victor, of Lafayette; three brothers, Elwood Marcotte of Verdunville, Alvin Marcotte of Baldwin, and Jerry Marcotte of Sorrel; ten grandchildren, Jason Hunter, Matthew Feske, Grace Burgess, Tyler Marcotte, Brody Marcotte, Jon Luke Marcotte, Warren Daigle, Jr., Christopher Daigle, Ian Burgess, and Kyle Burgess; and four great grandchildren, Alexandra Hunter, Carson Daigle, Clayton Daigle, and Paxton Daigle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oneal Marcotte and Annis Story Marcotte; three brothers, McKinley, James, and Ernest Marcotte; and one sister, Ruth Burgess. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, May 5, at Ibert's Mortuary from 9:00 AM until service time. Pallbearers will be Blake Marcotte, Jason Hunter, Matthew Feske, Tyler Marcotte, Brody Marcotte, and Jon Luke Marcotte. Honorary pallbearers will be Elwood Marcotte, Alvin Marcotte, Jerry Marcotte, Warren Daigle, Jr., and Christopher Daigle. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Roland Degeyter and the staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Elmer during his illness.
