Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2010/sm1005.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Mr. Emmet Peter LaJaunie, Sr., 88, a native of Shadyside and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at 7:30 AM at his home. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will conduct the services. Military Honors will be conducted by the Keesler Air Force Base Honor Guard, of Biloxi, MS. Mr. Emmet was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, having served during World War II as a pilot, stationed in Italy, who fought in the African Campaign. He was a longtime parishioner of the Church of the Assumption, as well as a Eucharistic Minister and adult altar server. Mr. Emmet is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Iris Doiron LaJaunie of Franklin; one son, Emmet P. LaJaunie, Jr. and his wife, Pricella, of New Orleans; one brother, Carroll LaJaunie of Missouri; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur LaJaunie, Sr. and Corrine Naquin LaJaunie; four brothers, Abel Paul LaJaunie, Earl LaJaunie, Arthur LaJaunie, Jr., and Herman "Tim" LaJaunie; and two sisters, Rita Theriot, Beatrice "Bea" Sinitiere. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday, May 20, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, with the rosary being prayed at 1:00 PM.
