VERRET, IRVIN JOSEPH 
25 November, 1925-14 May, 2010

Mr. Irvin Joseph Verret, 84, a resident of Morgan City and native of Jeanerette 
passed away at Teche Regional Hospital Friday, May 14, 2010. 

Irvin was the mechanics' mechanic. When it came time for repair big or small, 
Irvin was well known as the "go to Man." Irvin worked for Guarisco Motors, 
Pelican Lime Plant, and he owned and operated a service station. After his 
retirement Irvin enjoyed fixing small engines and tending to his home and garden 
in Stephensville. 

Irvin is survived by his sons, Joseph Irvin Verret and his wife Josephine of 
Kissimmee, Florida, Louis K. Verret and his wife Lisa of Baytown, Texas and Mark 
W. Verret and his wife Patricia of Morgan City. Daughters, Katherine Heilman and 
her husband Bill of Many, Louisiana, Janice Verret of Bayou Vista, Pamela Mayon 
and her husband Darren of Morgan City, Jenny Colgin and her husband Danny of 
Morgan City, and Cindy Broussard of Morgan City. Grandchildren, Gemma Tilley and 
JoAnne Snelling; Louis Jr., David and Jason Verret; Brooke and Jamie Verret; 
Louis Hebert, Jr.; Darren, Jr. and Danna Mayon; Daniel, Anna and Sarah Colgin; 
and Victoria and Chase Broussard. Irvin is also survived by nine great-
grandchildren, his sisters Elodie LaHoste, Anita Mounier, Audrey Bergeron and 
Helen Hulin and his loving companion Anna Wilson of Stephensville. Mr. Verret is 
preceded in death by his wife Helen Brown Verret, parents Lawrence and Anita 
Hebert Verret,...
