She was born in Morgan City, LA, to Clarice Ford Gros and Leonie Gros of Laurel Valley Plantation. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. There was never a time when MaMa and PaPa Cheramie's house was not open to family and friends, never a time when her grandchildren did not know there was a place for them comprised of unconditional love and laughter, and never a time when her family didn't feel they were the most important thing in the world when she was with them. Mrs. Cheramie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Clare Cheramie of Berwick and a second daughter-in-law, Teresa Cheramie of Bayou Vista. Mrs. Cheramie is also survived by five grandchildren, Beth Cheramie of Houston, Scott (Cheryl) Cheramie of Lafayette, Tammy Cheramie of Houma, Chris Cheramie of New Orleans, and Terry (Leslie) Cheramie of Houma, and a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Cheramie of Lafayette. Additionally, Mrs. Cheramie is survived by a sister, Marie (Johnny) Pere of Abbeville, LA, and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cheramie was preceded in death by her husband, Leon J. Cheramie, Sr., of Morgan City, a son Ponce Cheramie, of Bayou Vista, and a daughter-in-law, Diane Cheramie of Patterson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, beloved brothers, sister-in-laws, and other family and friends. The visitation will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Twin City Funeral Home from 10am until 11am. The funeral service will commence at 11am. Mildred will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum. ===================
