Robert was an outdoorsman. When he could find time away from a demanding job as purchasing agent for a chemical manufacturer, he loved to ride his motorcycle or his bicycle with equal enthusiasm or swim in the local bayou where he also loved to fish and boat. Robert liked to hunt, but most of all he liked people. He volunteered his time and efforts for the Baton Rouge Special Olympics in the 1980's. He also loved visiting area music festivals. Robert will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Robert is survived by his sister, Annita McIntosh Blanco and her husband Dudley of Morgan City. He is also survived by his nephew Christopher Robert Blanco and wife Karrie; and great nephew Ben Blanco of Lafayette, LA. Robert had a special place in the hearts of the Blanco family. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Reba Owens McIntosh, his paternal grandparents Robert B. and Pansy McIntosh and his maternal grandparents Alsa and Nettie Wright Owens. Visitation will be at Hargrave Funeral Home Monday, May 24, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; continuing Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 8:00 a. m. until 10:00 a. m.
