BATISTE, CLARA L. 

Miss Clara Louise Batiste, 79, a resident and native of Charenton, died 
Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 4:57 a.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital following 
a short illness.

She is survived by two sons, John and James Batiste of Charenton; three 
brothers, Clarence Batiste Jr. of Houston, Texas, Albert P. Batiste of New 
Orleans and Ranold Carter of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sisters, Mary Louise 
Batiste of Jeanerette and Florence E. Batiste of New Orleans; two grandchildren; 
and one great grandchild.

Miss Batiste was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three sisters and 
five brothers.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Mt. 
Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. 
Arnold Ray Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant 
Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
