March 20, 1914 - June 3, 2010 Josephine K. Castalano , 96, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, in Morgan City. Josie, Mama, Grandma Jo, Aunt Jo, Ms. Jo's greatest pleasure in life was seeing to it that everyone within feeding range had enough to eat. She was a unique lady and rarely missed a chance at sharing what she had or giving from the heart. Mrs. Jo is survived by three daughters, Betty C. Guarisco, Alice C. Stansbury, and Madeline C. Guarisco and her husband, Anthony; her daughter-inlaw, Ann G. Castalano; her grandchildren, Dr. Michael Guarisco, Dr. Christopher Guarisco, Dr. Steven Guarisco, Paul Guarisco, Peter Guarisco, Elizabeth Tousinau, John Stansbury, Sammy Castalano, Jennifer Castalano, David Castalano, Mary Grace Gray, Catherine Loupe, Toni Gail Jensen, Mark Guarisco, Matthew Guarisco, Sam Guarisco and Robert Guarisco; her brother, Anthony Kristicevich; her two sisters, Joan Kristicevich and June Fortier; and 40 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Sam J. Castalano; her son, Christopher J. Castalano; her parents, Capt. Tony Kristicevich and Alice W. Kristicevich; four sisters; three brothers; one great-granddaughter, Katie Patricia; and her sons-in-law, U. W. "Bubba" Stansbury and Peter F. Guarisco. Sincere thanks to Dr. Eric Melancon, the staff at Teche Regional Medical Center Emergency Department and the sixth floor staff, and the entire staff and administration of Maison Jardin for making her last months so beautiful. A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., with Mass beginning at 11 a.m. Mrs. Jo will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum. ===================
