SONNIER, ELVA J. DESORMEAUX 

A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Mrs. Irving J. Sonnier, the former Elva 
Jane DesOrmeaux, 78, at 1 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at Church of the Assumption 
in Franklin, with Fr. Lloyd Benoit officiating. Entombment followed at Our Lady 
of the Lake Mausoleum in Delcambre.

Visitation was held at Church of the Assumption in Franklin from 8 a.m. until 
service time, with the recitation of the Rosary at 12:30 p.m.

A native of Erath and resident of Franklin for 50 years, Mrs. Sonnier passed 
away at 2:53 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Franklin Foundation Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Irving J. Sonnier; children, Danny and wife, 
Sharon; Dennis and wife, Donna; Michael and wife, Betty; John and wife, Rhonda; 
Phillip and wife, Eva; and David and wife, Lori; brother, Farrell DesOrmeaux and 
wife, Ellen; 15 grandchildren: 3 step grandchildren; and eight great 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Huval and Esperie Richard DesOrmeaux.

Pallbearers will be Dennis, Michael, John, Phillip, David and Derrick Sonnier.

Honorary pallbearers will be her 15 grandchildren.

Evangeline Funeral Homes, Inc. of New Iberia were in charge of arrangements.
