Funeral services will be held Monday, July 12, 2010, at 12:00 PM at Ibert's 
Mortuary for Mr. Ernest Joseph Burns, 69, a native of Franklin and resident of 
Verdunville, who passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 7:30 AM at his home 
surrounded by family.

Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Fr. Ruben Primor will officiate the 
services.

Mr. Ernest is survived by his wife, Marlene Dupuis Burns of Centerville; his 
son, Cheyenne Burns and his wife, Jessica, of Garden City; three daughters, 
Jamie Guidry and her husband. Bonnes, of Patterson, Jeannine Simoneaux and her 
husband, Melvin Jr., of Verdunville, and Joanie Bernauer of Morgan City; one 
brother, Donald Burns of Verdunville; one sister, Thelma Chauvin of Verdunville; 
eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Joseph Burns and Louisiana Mae 
Voison Burns; and four sisters, Vivian Carter, Birdie Sauce, Kate Marcotte, and 
Sadie Aucoin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday, July 12, at Ibert's 
Mortuary from 9 AM until service time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main St.,
