June 17, 1941 ~ July 25, 2010 Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Ibert's Mortuary for Mr. Lionel J. Martin Jr., 69, a native of Jeanerette and a resident of Franklin, who passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, at 6:05 a.m., at his home. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Thomas Vu of St. Jules Catholic Church will officiate the services. Mr. Lionel is survived by one son, Randy G. Martin and his wife, Tammy Sanchez Martin, of Franklin; one daughter, Paula Martin Loveless and her husband, Mark Loveless, of Baldwin; five grandchildren, Dana Loveless and her companion, Jeremy Myers; Kisha Martin and her companion, Chris Maturin; Jenny Loveless and Ashley Landry, Kerry Martin and Kient Martin; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Jeanette) Cunningham of New Iberia and Mrs. Donald (Mary Lee) St. Germaine of Jeanerette; his special friend, Mary Foster; and his beloved dog, Chopper. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Landry Martin; his father, Lionel J. Martin Sr.; his mother, Sadie Broussard Martin; one sister, JoElla Guillot; one brother, Jackie Martin; and one great grandson, Chase Martin. Pallbearers will be Randy Martin, Kient Martin, Caleb Loveless, Jeremy Myers, Doug Frederick and Randy Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Martin, Trent Franks and Bryson Myers. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Heart of Hospice, Melody, Elaine and Chanda for the care given to Mr. Lionel during his final days. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, July 27 at Ibert's Mortuary, from 10 a.m. until Mass time, with the rosary being prayed at 1 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin. ===================
