SMITH, OLIVER, JR.

Oliver "Spark" Smith Jr., 86, a resident and native of Baldwin, died Tuesday, 
July 20, 2010 at his daughter's home in New Orleans.

He is survived by four sons, Herbert Smith of Fayetteville, North Carolina, 
Frank Smith, Leo Smith and Johnell Smith, all of Baldwin; three daughters, 
Veronica S. Fabre of New Orleans, Doris Fleming of Atlanta, Georgia and 
Elizabeth Smith of Baldwin; one sister, Shirley S. Van Buren of Tacoma, 
Washington; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Visitations will be observed Friday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at 
Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with the Rev. W.J. 
Otis officiating. Interment will follow Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in 
Baldwin.

Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
