Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2010/sm1008.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Robert John "Bobby" Pack, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Houston, Tx.,died Saturday, August 7th at Kingwood Medical Center in Houston, Tx. Bobby attended Sumpter Williams and during his high school years he was a star athlete, excelling in basketball, baseball and football. Not only did he do well on the field, he was brilliant in the classroom as well, graduating in the top ten of his class. Understanding the importance of education, he continued his academic pursuits at Southern University at New Orleans and Straight Business School. His studies were interrupted when he chose to become a distinguished member of the United States Army. Serving his country became his passion. During his stint in the Army he was voted the Most Valuable and Outstanding basketball player in his division. He received numerous prestigious awards including one for marksmanship. He was a verteran of the Vietnam War and continued to work diligently to protect and serve his country until he was honorablly discharged. The East St. Mary Funeral Squad will perform at graveside. Visitation will be held at New Zorah Baptist Church, 604 Julia St. Morgan City, Saturday, August 14th from 10:00 AM until funeral at 2:00 PM. Burial in the Morgan City Mausoleum. Bobby by his wife, Wilma Jean Pack; his children, Sharon Delaney (Samuel), Robert John Pack, Jr., Tracy White (Gregory Sr.) and Ukisha Watkins (Maurice), his grandchildren, Chaless K. Brown (Adrian), Darren A. Pack, Sr., Kevin McFadden, Cheromique Delaney, Magin Wtts, Robert J. Pack, III, Je'an Pack, Ciera N. White, Tramel White, Gregory White, Maurice D. Watkins and Marquise D. Watkins, his great-grandchildren, Darren A. Pack, Jr., Adrian Brown, Jr. and Mackenzie Lee, his brother and sisters-in-law; Earvin Johnson,(Diane), Betty Pack, Juanita Green, Izola Volter, Debbie Dixon (Louis), Aundry Stamps and Audrey Eatmon (Michael). Also, he leaves to cherish his memory a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, a aunt, a uncle and a brother in law. ===================
