Lt. Warren J. "Vilo" Valleau was born September 9, 1944, to Austin and Georgeanna Vilo in Morgan City. His spirit passed from this life on August 14, 2010. Warren was Director of Head Start in Kansas City, Kan., before joining the Jackson County, Mo., Department of Corrections, where he served 27 years and earned the rank of Lieutenant. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Viola; brothers, Austin "Kaiser" Vilo, Emile "Rocky" Vilo, and Lewe "Roy" Valleau. He is survived by his wife, Paris Valleau; stepdaughter, Christina Daugherty; sisters, Dianne Johnson and Dorothy LaSalle; brothers, Rudolph Vilo and Dr. Edward James "Vilo" Valleau; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and other family and friends. Warren was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo., where a celebration of homegoing will be held today, Thursday August 19, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. Final rest will return Warren to his birth home in Patterson, where he will be memorialized during services at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, August 27, 2010. Visitation at the church will begin at 10 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 11 a.m., followed by a noon funeral Mass. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will perform graveside services. ===================
