Winifred Richard "Paddy' Champagne died suddenly at Rapides General Hospital in 
Alexandria at 11:45 am on September 20, 2010.

Paddy was born in Franklin on February 28, 1927 and was a lifelong resident of 
Franklin until January of this year when she moved to Alexandria.

Paddy was the devoted wife of E.J. Champagne Jr., to whom she was married for 63 
years. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended the University of 
Louisiana at Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney J. Richard; her mother, Winifred 
Campbell Richard; an infant son, E.J. Champagne III; and her sister, Sidonie R. 
Bodin.

She is survived by her husband, E.J. Champagne Jr. of Alexandria; her daughter, 
Cindi Angers and husband, Trent, of Lafayette, Michele Champagne and Joy 
Juderman of Alexandria, Denise Yonge of Foley, AL., and Jany Champagne of 
Youngsville; her grandson, Kaz Baczinskas, a chiropractic intern in Dallas; two 
sisters, Hope Sansing of Alexandria, and Sharon Biggs and her husband, Donald of 
Lafayette; two brothers, Sidwin Richard and his wife, Jeannie of New Iberia, and 
Sidney J. Richard Jr. and his wife, Gayle of Franklin; along with numerous 
nieces and nephews.

The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, September 23, 2010 
from 8am until time of services at the Church of Assumption in Franklin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, September 23rd at 10am at the 
Church of Assumption with Father Bill Ruskoski, Father Lloyd Benoit, Father 
Oneal Landry, & Father Don Piraro officiating. Burial will follow in the 
Franklin Cemetery.
