Catherine Breaux Dilsaver died September 6, 2010 in Lafayette, LA, at the age of 
85. 

Mrs. Dilsaver was born August 21, 1925 in Morgan City, LA to Nicholas Henry 
Breaux and Aline Talbot Breaux, both natives of Assumption Parish. She graduated 
from Morgan City High in 1942, attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute in 
Lafayette, and she was a graduate of Spencer Business College in Lafayette. 

In 1947, she married John M. Dilsaver Jr. and they made their home in Morgan 
City. She became active in the Community Concert Association, the Ladies Country 
Club Board and the Ladies Petroleum Club. 

She was an associate organist for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the 1950's, 
Holy Cross Catholic Church in the 1960's-1970's, and St. Rosalie Catholic Church 
in Stephensville since the 1980's. 

As an avid lover of local history, she was associated with Mrs. Lela King 
Lehmann in the 1970's with the M.C. Public Library's Morgan City History 
Project. This led to their being co-founders of the Morgan City Archives in 1979 
where she served as Vice-Chairman from 1979-1986, then eventually becoming 
Curator. Through devotion to this project they both volunteered their services 
to the compilation and amassing of historical information now housed in the 
Morgan City Archives. She remained an active member of the Archives Commission 
for many years. 

Mrs. Dilsaver was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers 
Gerald Breaux, Camile Breaux and Norman Breaux; and her sisters Marion B. 
Keller, Evelyn B. Elverum and Vivian B. Fleckenstein. 

She is survived by her children John N. Dilsaver and his wife Suzanne, Douglas 
P. Dilsaver and Peggy Dilsaver Clark, six grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren. 

Visitation will take place at Twin City Funeral Home on Thursday, September 9, 
2010 beginning at 6pm until 9pm and resuming at Holy Cross Catholic Church on 
Friday, September 10, 2010 at 10am until 11am with a Mass of Christian Burial 
starting at 11am. 

Ms. Dilsaver will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum. 

The family wishes to express their special thanks to the staff at Cornerstone 
Village South in Lafayette for their compassionate and tender care during 
Catherine's residency there.
