Visitation will be Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, from 2:00 PM until 7:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, September 24th from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in The Christian Cemetery, Westbank Expressway in Gretna, La. Richard was a loving devoted husband of Tammy James of Bayou Vista, La., father of Richard James, Reginald James, Amber James, De'Angela James, Angelica James, Darrell James, Grace James & Kyle James all of Bayou Vista, La; grandfather of Aaron Barth Verdun, Jr of Bayou Vista, his mother, Nettie Newton of Franklin, La; brother of Louise Rogers of Shreveport, La., Maryann James of Houston, Tx., Johnny Cooper of Many, La., Glendale Newton of Zwolle, La.,and Lisa Gibson of Atlanta, Ga., son in law of Grace M. Heard of Marrerro, La.; a host of brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends, devoted friends, Sonny Freeman and Robert Hogatt of Morgan City, La. Preceded in death by his father, Richard James, his father-in-law, Worcester Johnson, Sr., and a brother-in-law, Richard Johnson, and his stepfather-in-law, Horace Heard. ===================
