Velma was born to the late Leon and Eva Landry, March 20, 1939 in Stephensville and passed away September 3, 2010 at the age of 71. Ms. V. lived an amazing life. She had a very outgoing personality and was a lady in all aspects of the word always well dressed and never a hair out of place. Velma worked for the United States Postal Service for 39 years and retired as Post Master of the Amelia Post Office. She was also the owner of Ms. V's Feed Store in Patterson. Velma loved her family dearly and would do anything for them. Ms. V. touched the lives of so many she will by deeply missed by all who knew her. Velma leaves behind to cherish her memories her two daughters; Gwendolyn Aleman, of St. Amant, Julie Aleman, of Houma A close friend, Sandra Sons, of Brusley St.Vincent . Her companion of 7 years Cowboy. Her four brothers; Leonard and Mazie Landry, of Stephensville, Ronald and Lorraine Landry , of Brusley St.Vincent, Michael and Mary Landry of Stephensville , and Damon and Katherine Landry of Stephensville. Her sisters Barbara and Albert "Butch" Eues of Stephensville , Susanna "Landry" Kendrick of Baton Rouge and her sister-in-law Bursie Landry of Stephensville. Velma is also survived by her grand children Anthony Aleman, Kristy Aleman, Roger Lee Craft, Jayme Craft and Joshua Aleman as well as her great grandchildren Aubrey, Kinley , Presley , and Jaylyn Craft. Velma is preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Craft, parents Leon and Eva Landry, her brother Leroy Landry and her sister Alberta Landry. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 pm until 10 pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Hargrave Funeral Home at 9 am until 11 am. Funeral Services will be conducted in the Hargrave Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11 am. Velma will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve will be Harold Landry, Roger Lee Craft , Anthony "Big A" Aleman, Patrick "PJ" Sons, Jr., Joshua Aleman and Ronald "Ronnie" Sons. ===================
