Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2010/sm1009.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Mr. Jake F. Lipari, 93, a native of Garden City, a resident of Patterson, and a successful Patterson sugarcane farmer, who passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010, at 4:25 AM at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Celebrating the Mass will be Mr. Lipari's eldest grandchild, Fr. Michael Russo, pastor of Our Lady of Fatima in Lafayette, with a host of con-celebrating priests, including Abbott James Liprie of the Olivetan Benedictine Order, a cousin of Mr. Lipari. Mr. Lipari is survived by two daughters, Lucy Lipari Russo and Mary Ann Lipari Marcell, both of Patterson; one sister, Rosie Graffagnino of Groves, TX; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Lydia Lucille Templet Lipari; an infant daughter, Lucille Lipari; his parents, Frank Lipari and Lucy Piranio Lipari; five brothers, Leo, Luke, Mike, Joe, and Tony Lipari; one sister, Frances Lipari Ashton; one son-in-law, Joseph C. Russo, Jr.; and one great grandson, Timothy Hill. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, September 6, 2010, at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visiting will resume Tuesday morning at Ibert's from 8:30 AM until dismissal time of 10:00 AM. Personal condolences may be sent to the Lipari family at www.iberts.com.
