Eva Guillory Murphy, 90, a native of Mamou, Louisiana and a long time resident 
of Morgan City passed away at her home Friday, September 03, 2010 surrounded by 
her family. 

Eva was a master seamstress that worked wonders with material, she could copy 
any article simply by looking at it. One Christmas her children gave her a 
workbench that she needed as one of her interest was carpentry If she saw 
something she wanted she built it. 

At age 70 she found an interest in bowling and joined the Senior League and won 
trophies in competition. Her less physical interest were gardening, reading and 
chocolate. 

Eva is survived by three sons and a daughter: Leland Palmature and his wife 
Cathy of Morgan City; Darrel Palmature of Morgan City; and Anthony Palmature and 
wife Shelley of Diamondhead, MS; and JoAnne Holliman of Morgan City, ten 
grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great-
grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Edless and Euna Guillory,husbands 
Elphese Palmature and Omar "Jut' Murphy, four sisters and four brothers. 

Eva will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew and loved her. 

Visitation will be Monday, September 6, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at 
Hargrave Funeral Home continuing Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 
11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
