Rhodes, 81, a native of Morgan City passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Teche Regional Medical Center. She was the youngest of four daughters born to Robert Joseph "Bob" Perillioux and Julia Dupre Perillioux. Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother whose world centered around her family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and whoever else was around. Betty was an amazing childcare provider for many years and cooked huge pots of gumbos, soups, and homegrown beans and vegetables for the children. She delighted in having the children help her to pick buckets of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers and beans of all kinds. She showed them how to hull their own lima beans and to snap their own green beans and to be excited to eat healthy, home-cooked meals. Betty also loved being at home and spending time with her dog "PITA" and her "grandog" Pepper. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Betty is survived by her daughter, Sandi Rhodes, and her grandson, Freddie Joe Sellers, who was the light of her life. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Rita Breaux and husband Ira, Marian McCaskill and husband Bill and Mildred "Mitzi" Templet and husband Allen. Visitation at Hargrave Funeral Home will begin Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M.; continuing Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Betty will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum. ===================
