Savoie Sr. 'Chief', 69, a native of Sorrel and a resident of Franklin died, Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 8:07p.m. at his residence. Lawless is survived by his wife of 47 years, Angeline Smith Savoie of Franklin; three sons, Lawless Savoie Jr., and his wife, Becky, of Jeanerette, Lance Savoie and his wife, Sherry, of New Iberia, and Leon Savoie and his companion, Anna Marie Russo, of Franklin; two daughters, Angie Robison, and her husband, Timothy, of Baldwin, and Anna Lyn Durocher and her husband, Eddie, of Baldwin; two brothers, Dudless Hebert and his wife, Angelle, of Charenton and Leroy Savoie and his wife, Sally, of New Iberia; six sisters, Lynn Metts and her husband, Eddie, of Panama City, FL, Lettress Aucoin of Berwick, Mary Derouen of New Iberia, Eva Benoit of Franklin, Theresa Schexnider and her husband, Brady, of Morgan City, Jean Moreaux and her husband, Raymond, of New Iberia; and 12 grandchildren, Erin Ponville Oxborrow, Angelique Ponville Gorman, Joshua Savoie, Zackery Savoie, Seth Savoie, Bethany Savoie, Lance Savoie Jr.,Shayla Savoie, LeAnna Durocher, Chezz Durocher, Mariah Durocher, and Gracelyn Savoie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel Savoie Sr. and Angelle Simoneaux Savoie-Davis; his brother, Lionel Savoie Jr.; two brother-in-laws, Jules Smith Jr. and Jesse Suire; and a granddaughter, Hailie Savoie. The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 6pm to 9pm at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin. The mortuary will reopen Thursday, September 30th from 11am to 1:30p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 30th at 2pm at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin with Father Thomas Vu officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. ===================
