Mrs. Maxillia Smith Crochet, 82, a native of Iberia Parish and a resident of 
Charenton died, Sunday, October 3, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Maxillia is survived by three sons, Emmet Joseph Crochet Jr., and his wife, 
Bonnie, of New Iberia, Alcide Peter Crochet of Jeanerette, and Alfred Joseph 
Crochet, and his wife, Linda, of Charenton; four daughters, Gloria Crochet Evans 
of New Iberia, Elizabeth Crochet Arcemont and her husband, Avery, of Estherwood, 
Yvonne Crochet Murphy and her husband, Randall, of Estherwood, and Rachel 
Crochet Simoneaux and her husband, Dale, of Charenton; one brother, Herman Smith 
Sr. of Franklin; two sisters, Lorita Smith Hulin of Crowley, and Rita Mae Gorman 
of Carencro; 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Joseph Crochet Sr.; a son, 
Roland Joseph Crochet; her father, Adam Smith III; her mother, Mazillia Badeaux 
Smith; five brothers and four sisters.

The Crochet family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, October 6, 
2010 from 6pm to 9pm at Ibert's in Franklin. Visitation will resume Thursday, 
October 7th, at 9am at Ibert's until time of service.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maxilllia will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 
11am at Ibert's in Franklin with Pastor Bobby Hodnett officiating. Burial will 
follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
