Sadie Lucy Morella Guarisco September 2, 1927 October 20, 2010

Sadie Lucy Morella Guarisco, a native of Patterson, La. and a resident of Morgan 
City, died at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, La. at 12:05 AM on Wednesday Oct. 
20, 2010.

She spent many years as the office manager at the Louisiana State Department of 
Motor Vehicles, here in Morgan City. The lovable person that she was, she spent 
those years trying to make everything right on her watch at that state agency. 
She would bend over backwards to help those who needed help.

Sadie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City, and belonged 
to the AARP. Sadie was very proud of her Italian heritage and shared that with 
her family. She had some very trying times in her life as she was widowed at an 
early age with five boys to raise.. Raise them she did, and a magnificent job, a 
family of which to be proud. Sadie loved to cook Italian foods of all kinds, and 
a great job she did. She loved to be with her children and grand children when 
they played sports, as she loved the outdoors. Sadie was a kind, considerate, 
compassionate person and a good friend to many, who as a mother sacrificed 
herself for her children.

Sadie is survived by her five sons, John F. Guarisco and his wife Anne, of 
Lafayette, Joseph S. Guarisco and his wife Cristina of New Orleans, Peter J. 
Guarisco Jr of Morgan City, Thomas A. Guarisco of Houma, and Christopher P. 
Guarisco and his wife Mari, of Houma. She is also survived by three brothers, 
Anthony Morella, of Patterson, Joseph Morella and his wife Tonia of Gilbert, 
Arizona, and John Morella and his wife Charlene of Lafayette, one sister in law, 
Mary Lena Cutrera Morella of Patterson, and a brother in law, Mario Guarisco and 
his wife Janice of Morgan City. She is also survived by fourteen grand children, 
Shannon, John Jr., Shawn, Erin, Isabella, Kristen, Nicolas, Lauren, and Brennan 
Guarisco, Patrick Guthrie, Cierra Savoie, Jason and Leslie Rousse and Blake 
Dufrene, and one great grandchild, Hayden Matherne.

Sadie was predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph and Lena Perry Morella, 
her husband, Peter John Guarisco, a brother, Sam Morella, a grandson, Gabriel 
Guarisco, and a brother in law, Salvador Guarisco.

Visitation will begin at 9AM on Friday, October 22, 2010 until 11AM. Mass of 
Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM. All services will be at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church in Morgan City, La., under the direction of Twin City Funeral 
Home.
