Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2010/sm1010.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, October 4, 2010, at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Mr. Merlin Paul Simoneaux, 77, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 12:35 AM at his residence. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services. Mr. Simoneaux was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He retired in 1994 from Cabot after 39 years of dedicated service. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rose Ardeneaux Simoneaux of Franklin; one daughter, Susan Simoneaux Jones of Franklin; one son, Michael David Simoneaux and his wife, Monica, of Franklin; one sister, Beryl B. Louviere of Centerville; four grandchildren, Skyler Simoneaux, Macy Simoneaux, Alexis Jones, and Elliot Simoneaux, all of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Anne Simoneaux; his parents, Sullie Simoneaux and Rosa Boudreaux Simoneaux; eight brothers, Oneil, Charley, Willie, Clifford, Johnny, Leo, Percy, and Edward Simoneaux; and four sisters, Inez Belanger, Lillian Simoneaux, May Landry, and Odette Naquin. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, October 4, at the Church of the Assumption from 10:00 AM until Mass time.
