Betty was the best mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend anyone could hope to have. Betty lived an amazing life. She was a very independent lady who was always on the go and was always ready at a moment's notice if she heard the words "let's go." Betty was a long-time member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick. She loved her Lord and did all she could to make His house beautiful. She mopped and buffed the floors until she could see herself. Betty was known as the "Domestic Goddess." When Betty cleaned her church, there was not a speck of dust to be found when she was done. Betty was a member of the St. Stephen Church choir, and for many years the Altar Society and the St. Mary AARP. Betty is survived by her three sons, James Frederick Jr. of Bayou Vista, Carol Frederick and his wife, Linda, of Chauvin, and Rodney Frederick and his wife, Melinda, of Bayou Vista; her two daughters, Amanda Frederick of Stephensville, and Patricia Ashley and her husband, Dean, of Ricohoc; grandchildren, Shawn St. Romain, Destiny Barrilleaux, Ashley Gros, Kayla LeBouf, Travis Frederick , Christopher Frederick , Jonathan and Quiana Ashley, Dana LaBouve and Traci LeBlanc; and her step-granddaughter, Naomi Carter. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren, Brandon and Caroline St. Romain, Abigail Gros, Aaron Barrilleaux, Tristan Comeaux, Abigail Comeaux, Alexander Comeaux, Megan Ashley, Blaize, Dakota, Angelina, Landon Stoltz, Lexie and Hunter LeBouef, Mary and Mason LeBlanc, and Brandon and Nelson LaBowe. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Frederick Sr.; her daughter, Melinda DiMatteo; her parents, Vincent and Margaret Romero; her sister, Lorena Concienne; her brothers, Vincent Romero Jr., Douglas Romero, Freddie Romero, and Louis Romero; her aunts, uncles, cousins, beloved friends; and Miss Kitti, her beloved cat. Funeral services were held today, Monday, November 1, 2010, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Betty was laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery. ===================
