J., and resident of Bayou L'Ourse, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. Chuck was a wonderful and caring husband, father and grandfather to his family. He could tell some great stories that would entertain the listener for hours. He was an avid golfer and gardener. Chuck loved to cook and even served his retirement community as volunteer chef for 10 years when he and Shelia lived in Manahawkin, N. J. He volunteered his time in the clubhouse and in the community, helping out his many friends and associates. At an early age, Chuck went to dive school where he became an accomplished diver. He later saw the need to serve his country and he proudly did this by serving in the U. S. Navy for almost 10 years, where he became a submarine rescue vessel diver. After he served the USA, he moved south where he worked in the Gulf of Mexico as a diver and then as a diver superintendent, from which he retired. Chuck was a member of the National American Legion. The lovable person that he was, he will be lovingly and sadly missed by his many friends and family. Chuck is survived by his wife, Shelia Presslitz Richardson; two sons, Charles Robert Richardson and Kevin Rock; six daughters, Lisa Verrett, Leslie Valentino, Eleanor Stuprich, Noreen Williams, Patience Pollet and JoAnne Rock Radtke; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Richardson; and his stepmother, Eleanor Richardson. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date. Twin City Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. ===================
