Donald will be missed by all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. After attending Delgado Community College, in New Orleans, Donald returned home to Morgan City to practice his new trade, accounting. He worked for a local family for 23 years at their car dealership and various other businesses the family owned as accountant. He then worked for Avondale Industries in Bayou Black until their relocation to New Orleans, at which time he retired. Donald was active in the community. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. A member of Holy Cross Parish where he was a Eucharistic Minister to the home bound. He also delivered groceries and supplies to those same people for just a smile. In his younger days, he was an active member in the Kiwanis Club of Morgan City. He, along with others members, were instrumental in obtaining the land and building known as the Petting Zoo, which was the clubs meeting place for many years. Donald is survived by his daughter Deborah Abshire and husband Chad and their children, Andy, Brandy, Tiffany, Jeremy. His son, Wayne Lancon and daughters Emily and Shelby. Donald is also survived by 13 great grand children. A sister, Elaine Lancon Grizzaffi and a host of nephews and nieces. nieces. Donald was preceded in death by, his wife of 50 years, Hazel Kronlage, his son Donald "Donnie" Lancon, his parents, Alcide Lancon and Genevieve Dupuis, a sister Adeline Guichet, and a brother Myron Lancon. Visitation will be Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church; with services beginning at 2:00 pm. Donald will be laid to rest in The Morgan City Cemetery. ===================
