Bergeron passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the age of 74 surrounded by family. He was a native and resident of Morgan City, Louisiana. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon Ratts Bergeron; son, Damon Bergeron and wife Suzanne of Berwick; daughter, Judith Bergeron Hidalgo and husband William Jr. of Berwick; and five grandchildren, Lani Bergeron, Dylan Bergeron, Jeanne Marie Hidalgo, Blake Hidalgo, and Elise Hidalgo. Jason is also survived by his brothers Patrick (Pat), Anthony (Sonny), and Edwin (Ed), and sisters Catherine Kidd, Joyce Buford, Joan Michel and her husband Calvin of Kaplan and one brother-in-law, Jerry Ratts and his wife Janice of Wichita, Kansas . A veteran of the US Army, he was known as Jake or Foots to friends, and was a retired self-employed business owner of B & B Pump and Equipment Rentals, together with his wife and son. He is remembered as a hunter, fisherman, and golfer, but most of all he loved to play a good game of cards with his buddies and share stories with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Elizabeth Bergeron; an infant daughter; brothers Oliver, Sheldon, and Robert (Bob), and a sister Elizabeth (Bet) Berquist. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Morgan City, LA, beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11:00 in the morning. Internment services will be held at Morgan City Mausoleum at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in the memory of Jason Bergeron to the Morgan City Main Street Program. ===================
