Mrs. Nell spent her last six years in assisted living in Morgan City, first at Garden View which later became Maison Jardin. Her last three weeks were under the care of the Morgan City Health Care Center. She was president of Blakesley Lumber & Supply Company of Franklin for several years. But her primary role in life was wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Clarence Matthew Blakesley; her parents, William and Birdye Dunlop; three sisters, Helen Gray, Lucy Duke, and Glynn Ward; one brother, Billy Dunlap; four nieces and three nephews. She is survived by daughter, Donna and son-in-law Conrad Poe of Morgan City; two grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and his wife Toni Poe of Youngsville, and Kathryn and her husband Matt Dalton of Morgan City; one sister and her husband, Betty and Jack Hughes of Amarillo, TX; and three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Micah Poe of Youngsville, and Hannah Dalton of Morgan City. Funeral services were held at the Franklin Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bobby Hodnett officiating.
