August 23, 1950 ~ January 23, 2011 Roosevelt "Rocky" Cheramie was a lifelong resident of Morgan City. Born to the late Roosevelt and Eunice Cheramie August 23, 1950, Rocky entered into heaven's gates on Sunday January 23, 2011 at the early age of 60. Rocky was in Oilfield Sales for many years, he was a best friend to everyone he'd meet and was never at a loss for words. Rocky was a born salesman. He enjoyed the outdoors as he was a great golfer, an avid hunter and fisherman. Rocky was at one time honored to win the state bowling championship and be presented with the Louisiana State Championship ring for bowling. Rocky was also a pool player whose claim to fame was to have beaten the famous Minnesota Fats at his own game! Rocky very much was a family man who loved his family dearly especially his grandkids, he enjoyed playing football with them, taking them fishing or just being with any of his family made his day. Rocky is survived by his son Benjamin Cheramie; his daughter Melissa Cheramie; His brothers and sisters Betty Hyde, Beverly Burleigh, Attecia Alston, Darlene Cheramie, Perry Cheramie and Tommie Cheramie; his four grandchildren Gevin, Tyler, Jacob, Natalie and several nieces and nephews. Rocky is preceded in death by his parents Roosevelt and Eunice Cheramie, the love of his life his wife Janice Cheramie, and his brother Joe Cheramie. Visitation will be on Wednesday January 26, 2011 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 8 am until services at 11am. Rocky will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery near his brother Joe. ===================
