He was the fourth child, born on October 8, 1953, to the late Edward Hatcherson Sr. and the late Bessie Johnson Hatcherson. Bro. Moses accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized here at the St. Joseph Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Albert Wiggins. He served dutifully under the late Pastor Albert Wiggins, the late Pastor L.B. Bennett, the late Pastor Lenell Watson, former Pastor Joseph Fields under whom he announced his Calling to the Ministry, the late Pastor Roland Matthews and under our present Pastor Ronald C. Young until the time of his departure. In his Spiritual Life was also included the late Rev. Timothy Falls and Pastor Naomi (Betty) Bowels of Christian Temple, both well-respected community leaders. He served as Associate Minister here at St. Joseph B.C., musician for several churches, praise and worship team, director of the Male Chorus, a member of the National Music Workshop of America and of the National Baptist Association USA, Inc. He was an avid reader, singer and lover of music, preacher and always willing to bring new ideas to all of his affiliates. His favorite hymn was "Some Day." Beams of Heaven as I go; through this wilderness below; guide my feet in peaceful ways; turn my midnight into days; when in the darkness I would grope, faith always sees a star of hope; and soon from all life's grief and danger, I shall be free some day; I do not know how long it will be; or what the future holds for me; but this I know, if Jesus leads me, I shall get home some day! He graduated in 1971 from Franklin Sr. High School, from Young Memorial Voch- Tech College in 1973 as a certified welder and took some extension courses at the University of Lafayette, La. He was formerly employed by J. Ray McDermott, St. Mary Parish School System, Charlie's Restaurant and later became self employed selling Christian music and supplies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Hatcherson Sr. and Bessie Johnson Hatcherson; and one brother, Raymond Hatcherson. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, one sister, Recording Artist Brenda Hatcherson-Brown (Johnny) of Bossier City; three brothers, Rev. Edward Hatcherson Jr. (Irma), Pastor of Mary Evergreen Baptist Church of Mansfield; Clarence Hatcherson (Josie) of San Pedro, California and Glen Hatcherson of Jeanerette; three nieces and four nephews; and a very special friend for three years, Wanda Polidore of Franklin, Pastor John Mitchell and Rev. John Davis of Charity Baptist Church, Pastor Ulysses Mitchell Jr. of St. John, Macedonia and Lil Jerusalem Baptist churches, Pastor Ronald C. Young and the St. Joseph Baptist Church Family; and a host of other relatives and friends, who know that earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot Heal. There will be a musical honoring him Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at the St. Joseph Baptist Church, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. His funeral will be Wednesday, January 12 at the St. Joseph Baptist Church, at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Baptist Church Cemetery. Final arrangements entrusted to Heavenly Gates Funeral Home, 1339 Jewel St., in Shreveport. ===================
