BATEMAN, THELMA LEE 

Thelma Lee Bateman, 80, a homemaker, ended all suffering on Monday, Jan. 31, 
2011. 

She was originally from Beaumont, Texas, one of seven children in the family. 
She lived in Berwick until she and her husband, Mr. Alfred E. Bateman, moved to 
New Orleans with her daughter, Karen Bowers-Toppins and her husband, Horace 
Toppins Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Bateman; her siblings, Martin Lee Jr., 
Robert James Lee, Albert Andrus Lee, Dorothy Louise Lee, Mary Ann Lee and 
Deborah Corine Lee, all of Beaumont, Texas; her daughters, Karen Bowers-Toppins 
and her husband, Horace, of New Orleans, Janice Johnson and her husband, Edward, 
Sylvia Randolph, Doris Francois and her husband, Ray, and Beverly Norman; her 
sons, Larry Norman and Ernest Ladday; and a host grandchildren, great-
grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
