BROOKS, FRANK 

Mr. Frank Brooks, 78, a resident and native of Patterson, died Saturday, 
February 5, 2011, at 1:45 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City 
following a short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Lillie M. Levy Brooks of Patterson; one son, Melvin 
Johnson Sr. of Clarksville, Tennessee; two daughters, Arleen Brooks Stewart and 
husband, Michael, and Florence Washington of Patterson; one brother, Joseph 
Brooks Jr. of Patterson; one sister, Annie Mae Veltz of Patterson; nine 
grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

 Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five 
brothers.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, February 12, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at 
New Salem Baptist Church in Patterson.

 Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with the Rev. 
Samuel Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the Home Industrial 
Cemetery in Patterson.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
